Welcome To Hillsborough Medical Practice
Our aim is to keep all our patients up to date with what is happening in the practice! Please find some useful information below:
ROUTINE GP APPOINTMENTS
Due to the practice experience high levels of missed appointments we have change the way in which we release our routine GP appointments. Going forward routine appointments will be released at 2pm daily and will only be bookable 2 weeks ahead. We appreciate that this is a big change to the practice but would ask our patients to kindly understand that the practice cannot continue to have almost 200 missed GP appointments per month and for appointments to be fully booked 7 weeks in advance. We hope our new service will offer more flexibility and efficiency as routine appointments will be available to book daily.
ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
Hillsborough Medical Practice has a policy of zero tolerance of verbal and physical violence towards all out staff members. The Practice is committed to ensuring that our staff treat our patients with dignity and courtesy at all times. We expect our patients to treat staff in the same manner. Shouting and swearing at the practice staff will not be tolerated under at circumstances.
DISRUPTION TO SUPPLY OF RANITIDINE
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency has sent an alert to all hospitals, GP practices and pharmacies in the UK informing that a number of manufacturers have recalled batches of ranitidine as a precautionary measure. All stock manufactured for the UK market that have been affected has been quarantined while investigations are ongoing. As a result, all oral formulations of ranitidine are expected to be out of stock, with no date for resupply until further notice.
We would ask affected patients to undergo a trial of stopping ranitidine and monitor for any change in gastro symptoms. Please contact our practice pharmacists, Alan or Emma if you would like to discuss this matter further by phoning reception on 02892 682216.
Due to pressure on appointments, please not that each Doctors appointment is only 10 minutes long. If you have multiple issues to discuss, please arrange a double appointment or be prepared for the Doctor to suggest a follow up appointment. Many thanks for your co-operation.
